BB103 explained: how big should a classroom be?
Building Bulletin 103 (BB103) is the DfE's area guidance for mainstream schools, published in June 2014. It gives 55 to 62 m² for a standard primary classroom of 30 pupils, 62 m² for reception, and 55 m² for a secondary general classroom of 30. It also sets total areas for whole schools by number of pupils. Use it to size a modular classroom brief so every supplier prices the same rooms.
